Let's get this party started....

OK. I'm throwing it all out there. Making myself accountable. You know, all that healthy crap. You see a few years ago I lost weight on Weight Watchers Points. Then gained it back. Then lost it using www.myfooddiary.com and then gained it back. Well, I need to lose it again...and hopefully not find it. And after these two successful times I realize that I cannot actually diet. I cannot give up any particular food. I do well when I just track what I eat. It makes me accountable and makes me think long and hard about what I want to eat or not eat. If I want chocolate I will eat chocolate but that means I will have to make some adjustments at a later meal. Good think I like veggies. With the way our budget looks, I cannot join WW and cannot afford my old website but I did find another similar site that is FREE. Yep, you heard me.... FREE
www.dailyplate.com
So I'm making myself accountable starting today. I will log anything and everything that passes these lips. Even if Hubby breaks out the deep fryer....I will log it. I just need to figure out how much fat and calories are in deep fried oreos?
So wish me luck, and push me forward. Because I know me well enough to know I will jump ship the first chance I get.

Ok. This information is just so that you know how to adjust you diet to make room for the deep fried oreos! I don't know how accurate it is but.....

Deep-fried Oreo has 98 calories EACH!! Of course that is low compared to the deep fried Twinkie which has 420.

Ok. Enough time wasted at work! Back to my grant!

Good luck!

Thank you Amy!
And since they are only 98 calories a piece they are TOTALLY an acceptable treat....yum.

listen, you can do this... and i will be right there with you. my eating has been out of control since thanksgiving and it has TOTALLY caught up with me. i did really well yesterday, but have a headache today from cutting back so severely on the sugar. i can't diet either, but i have to cut back in a major way.

I am right behind you and will help you on the phone but you need to help me too since mine is at a stand still and I need to kick start it again somehow. (I know, I know, the doctor told me to exercise, yuk). So I will help you with the food part and you help me with the excercise part. Make me do it once a day at least. Huggs

I am so glad Amy helped you with one of your treats... I hope others will give you more good tips on yummy foods you can eat.

Quick and Healthy Low Energy Cooking
If you, like so many of us, have resolved to eat healthier this year, try this great recipe that is not only good for you, but tastes great and saves energy. It’s even quick enough for a busy week night meal.

Toaster Oven Salmon
4 - 4 oz Salmon filets, thawed
Extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt
Ground pepper

Preheat toaster oven to broil. Cover oven pan with aluminum foil. Put even coating of extra virgin olive oil on foil and lay defrosted salmon in oil. Sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper to taste, flip and repeat.

If your toaster oven has a two-part broiler pan, add ½ cup water to the lower portion of the pan before cooking.

Broil 5 minutes on each side. Filets are done when they are firm to the touch and opaque. Remove from oven, let rest 3 minutes. “Steam-in-the-bag” microwave vegetables and brown rice from your grocer’s freezer make great quick and healthy side-dishes.

That frog picture is HI. Larry. us!
Thanks for coming over to Blog Is My CoPilot...I'm starting a new project over there. It sort of suits my stalker-like qualities well. I read, and read and read, and chose a "Co-Pilot" of the day, or week, or month or whatever I decide. It should be fun.

I'll be back!

Good luck! I agree about not cutting anything out. I just have to eat things in moderation.
