Flashback Friday

Im sure I am dating myself when I post these pictures, but here it goes anyway. Every year on Black Friday afternoon we go help my Mother in law decorate the church. While they are hanging the garland and wreaths I take the boys into the playroom. This is the only time of year that I go in there and every year it takes me back to my own childhood. Most of the toys are donated from church members and they are OLD, just like me. These toys in particular are some of the ones I had while I was growing up and seeing them puts a huge smile on my face. Let me know if you recognize any of these or if you too had them as a child.

Here are the animals that went to the farm set, which is shown below. There is also an Elephant and Thumper in the picture.

My Buddy and Bananas in Pajamas!!!

I had this same farm and played with it for years. I saw an ornament at Hallmark the other day that was a miniture replica of this toy.

Here is the real deal....An original See and Say. I know they still make these, and my boys have one that we keep in the van. But it is still sentimental to see an older one.

I dont really know what these were called but I remember having them and building weird animals over and over.

I hope everyone had a great holiday and still have full bellies. I am stuffed from having leftovers after the church was all decorated. Now Hubby and the boys are out front putting up some yard decorations....it is too cold for me so I will sit right here in my cozy, warm pajamas....blogging and daydreaming about toys from my past.

I had that farm too!

What a nice way to be able to reflect. Isn't it funny how our kids enjoy the same toys we once loved?

My little brother had a "my buddy" doll that he toted around everywhere. My dad wasnt too thrilled about it, but Nick LOVED his buddy! :)

We had the same farm and the wierd animals that snapped together. We got the verizon voyager, with touch screen and free internet for the first month! I am so excited, I can't even use it yet! I am off to finish the crock pot pork, for pulled pork sandwiches. I don't know what I will serve them with but, the teenagers will survive.

Thanks for visiting my blog. This post is great... I can still hum teh music to Bananas in pajamas....they're coming down the stairs...

The sad part is that my oldest daughter got in on the very last years of that show....

I think I still have a bunch of those little Fisher Price (?) animals that went with the barn. Somewhere.

Thank you for the flashback! I have the farm and the farm animals in my basement! I loved that toy as a child so I bought it for my own kids before they changed everything to the big chunky style. I'm so keeping that forever.

And those connecting animals, love them! I think those were from Tupperware or something.

Came by from Dirty Socks & Pizza. Didn't feel like wishing you a happy birthday a day late, so I kept reading… Takes me back.

No, I don't think you are dating yourself… unless you bought yourself some candy and flowers.

I played with my Farm Set for years and years. Then my little sister got one too, but she was into dolls and girly things so I had two barns to use. (I was a tomboy!)
