Clean up time sucks
At what age do they stop fighting you to clean up? UGH....somedays I just dont feel like fighting and would rather just do it myself. Any tips or hints to make clean-up time go smoother? I even tried putting the fear of Santa in them and they arent budging. Right now I make them hold off on bedtime snacks until things are all cleaned up....but they still balk and fuss and I have to constantly tell them to get moving. This is NOT one of the joys of motherhood.

Jacob still fights with me at age 9! Yes, it sucks!
My husband still fights with me and he's 29!!
AMEN!! My kids are 9, 6, and 3 and they scream and cry and throw fits like NO OTHER!! I take away TV, computer, video games, and snacks until it's done. And sometimes--who am I kidding--everytime--it takes them FOREVER to get it done!!
please... you don't want to know the answer to that. it hasn't stopped in my house yet. usually if i tell them that if they are too tired to clean, they can go to bed, they'll straighten a BIT. but i am with you, it is sometimes easier to do it myself. so ANY attempt on their part to even remotely look like they are obeying, i call good, and then finish up myself. their wives will hate me.

I spent much of my kids childhood doing it myself, since it was so much easier. It was a mistake, cause often I still end up doing it myself!
