Guest Post....from Mom

Hi everyone, this is Denise’s Mom Nancy…. Happy Memorial Day to all of you out there. I want to update you on Denise. She is such a trooper and is doing ok but just isn’t quite up to keeping up with her daily blogging. She feels bad about not only writing her daily blogs but also not reading everyone’s daily blogs. She is just too whipped out. She kind of feels like a drained out washed out dish rag. She knows everyone is out there praying for her and even has moments when she feels the prayers working for her, however when she is feeling those good times when she knows the prayers are working she spends them with her hubby, JP and R along with C when he is at the house. It is more important that she spend as much good times with her family then away from them sitting at her computer. Yesterday her breakfast consisted of Pepto Bismal. That should give you an idea of how her days start and then they go downhill from there. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers to help her to start feeling stronger not only for a little while but for an entire day or if possible more than one day lets all pray for two or three days of feeling like a human being. Wouldn’t that be a Great Blessing? I personally want to thank all of you all for your thoughts and prayers for her as she fights this horrible illness. It is times like this that I wish I didn’t live over 2,000 miles away and could go over and not only help take care of her kids and her house but just sit down and give her a daily hug and a back rub which I know would make her feel good for a little while. I plan to fly there sometime in August and that is a promise I have to give to here every day while I am there. A Huge Hug and a Back Rub which she enjoys immensely. Thanks Blogger Friends of Denise. You are Truly The Best….

Getting it off my chest

I read a lot. Mostly Christian book with some thrillers thrown in for good measure. I also read a lot of blogs. No surprise there. I like to think that reading can and will help me to be a better mom and wife. Whether I read about child-raising tips, recipes or Biblical Principals....I like to try and use all that new information to better myself. There is one drawback to this. When I read I realize how far I need to go to make myself better. I would not consider myself a good (or even Godly) wife or mother. Even though that is exactly what I want to be. I find myself yelling too much or putting myself first before my family. Both make me feel guilty, but guilt can't undo what done. Each day needs to be a fresh start. A new beginning. All I can do is learn from my past mistakes, use my newly read knowledge and Pray I will not screw up as badly today as I did yesterday.

Dear Heavenly Father, please work through me and guide me through my day. Help me to Glorify you in all that I do. And please forgive me when I screw up. Amen

He likes older women.....

Yesterday at J's make-up Tball game he stunned us all. He went up to the coaches sister....asked for her name and phone number. He is 5 and she looked like she was around 25. I know grown men who dont have the nerve to be that forward with a woman.

Do you think he will be a player??

Prom and Methotrexate

Doesn't C look Handsome in this picture?!?
Here is C and Sam....looking great and getting ready for the Prom. They had a great time. I did not take this pictures myself....my pictures never turn out this good. Plus I dont really know how to load them on the computer yet. So if any of mine turn out ok, I will post more pictures.
After taking pictures at C's dads house, Sam's house and at the school we went for ice cream. So Tonya and her daughter Ally, Jen (my ex-sister in law)and her daughter and I all went out for dinner and ice cream. We had a great time. We were laughing and joking and someone even threw ice cream. But I am not mentioning names, lol

These are my new Methotrexate pills. I have to start taking them tonight. 6 of them. They are small....but mighty. I was told to take them right before bed so I will sleep through the worst part of the side effects. I had two doctors warn me that I will not be feeling very well the next day. And I had one doctor tell me it has no side effects. I am rooting for the later....but will keep you posted.

I hope and pray everyone is having a wonderful and safe weekend.

Random stuff

I have a bunch of things bumping around in my head, fighting for top priority. I think I need to spill all these thoughts out so I can focus on the really important stuff.

-R is doing really good potty training....even pooping. Yay R!

-My Dad is not doing very well and needs prayers. So does my Mom since she takes care of Dad.

-I really need to lose weight. I also really need a treadmill but hubby says we cant afford it....anyone have a spare one they dont want??

-Im so glad that today is not as hot as yesterday....and the Sun is still shining.

-C has a huge AP Chemisty test this week. I am praying he does well.

-Veggies Tales. I love Veggies Tales. We recently discovered them and can't believe they arent more popular than they are. They are so cute, and have such great messages (Biblical based). And I am so thankful that my boys love them too....It's be over a week since they have watched any show on Nickelodeon. And that makes me very happy. Because even if they watch the harmless shows like Dora, Wow Wow Wuzby, etc....they end up seeing commercials that make them beg for toys and commercials that make them want to watch Spongebob or OddParents. I dislike those shows. And as much as my boys seemed to love them....they dont seem to miss them now.

-I really need to clean. or somehow get my kids to do it. Either way, it needs to be done. Soon.

-My hubby just called from work to wish me a Happy Mothers Day <3

-I feel like I have been so neglectful of the blogs I am following....I rarely get to read or comment lately. Hopefully soon I will find a way to do a better job.

-I really would love a Hydrangea bush. (see, I told you these were random thoughts, lol)

-What should I make for dinner? And on the same topic...Why havent I kept up on my monthly meal planning? That is on my to-do list for the week.

-Speaking of my To-Do list for this week, here it is:
Monday morning....fasting blood test
Tuesday afternoon...Doctors appointment and T-ball game
Wednesday...nothing yet
Thursday evening....Dinner with C and Tonya. C got picked for Boys' State or something like that. Thursday night is a dinner for the kids and their parents. I hope people don't get the wrong idea when he shows up with his two mom's. ROFL
Friday...Prom. Drop kids off at my SIL then go take pics of C and his girlfriend Sam. Then more pics at the school.

-I really hope that is all I have to do this week....my energy is running low.

-I need to go play with J

Have a happy day!

Happy Mothers Day!

Message From Mom....

Hi everyone this is Denise’s mom. I just wanted to let all of you know that she is doing OK considering it has been months without her medication and just taking it one day at a time. She is very grateful for all your thoughts and prayers. She has an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday and will let him know that she has been patiently waiting to start taking the new medication and to plead her case to either start her on it or let her go back to taking Enbrel. Thank you all for being there for her. It really means a lot knowing that there are so many people who care about her and are praying daily while she waits. I want to thank all of you as well. You are all her Angels.
Nancy

Now a quick update on the situation with my Rheumy. I got a call back this morning that he is out of the office until next week. Wonderful :-( But they did have a cancellation on Tuesday afternoon. I said yes to the appointment even though my hubby will be at work, J has a t-ball game and I have no sitter during my appt. Wish me luck on getting there, and having a productive appointment with two little ones in tow.

Prayer request for me

I am so frustrated I could cry. My Rheumy took me off the Enbrel and sent me to see another Rheumy. His plans for me were to start the Methotrexate ASAP after my visit to the second Rheumy. He actually told me to call the next day...and he would call in my prescription so I could start it right away. So I held up my part of the deal. I stopped the Enbrel nearly two months ago. I have struggled and pushed through. Monday I saw the second Rheumy who said she agrees with him, to start the Methotrexate. I called and left him a message yesterday and played phone tag all day. This morning I get a call from his office that he didnt get anything from the second Rheumy that says I actually saw her and he doesnt feel comfortable putting me on Methotrexate at this time. You are kidding me, right? Seriously?!? It was HIS idea....I didnt WANT to come off the Enbrel. I told the woman who called to to tell him that I do NOT understand and that he needs to look back on his notes. This was all HIS idea. She took the second Rheumy's phone number so she could call and verify that I actually went up there on monday. Hmmph.

I have an appointment with him June 9th. There are no earlier appointments. So I need some prayers sent my way. Prayers that he will get his head out of his you-know-what and read my file. Then maybe he will see this was his plan, not mine and he will call the meds in for me. This medicine takes up to 6 weeks to feel improvements. I dont want to wait another month to start it, I have already been without meds for nearly two months.

And Thanks for everyone who sees this and prays for me. I know that God will take of me...and I will trust that

Weekend trip and medical update

Wow....not sure how many days since I posted my last blog. We left friday on a quick vacation. It was a trip to PA (where we go visit several times each year) and we spent Friday night in a Caboose. Before we got to the motel, we went to Maplehoffers to buy milk. Then we went to the Strasburg Railroad and set the boys loose in the Thomas store. They had Christmas money saved for just an occasion. After that we headed over to the Toy Train Museum. After seeing all the Toy trains we checked into our Caboose. The boys were thrilled. The Cabooses are all real cabooses that have been gutted and remade into motel rooms. Our room had a queen bed and bunks. And J could look out his window and see the Strasburg RailRoad. By this time we were all tired and laid down for a short nap and then headed out to dinner. Since R is potty training we took his potty everywhere we went and he did great. Except for #2, he still wont do that on the potty and makes big messes for me to clean. Ew. Saturday morning we were all up very early and headed out to breakfast. I love Breakfast at Bird-in-Hand Restaurant. LOVE IT. Mainly because of their Baked French Toast, which is heavenly. I plan to try a million recipes until I figure out how to make it just like them. YUM! After checking out of the motel we headed to Shady Maple Market for pies to bring home and then on to Cabelas. We haven't been there since J was a baby so it was awesome that both J and R were old enough to enjoy it. They loved seeing all the animals and fish. It was a very nice trip but I was very happy to get back home. Trips like this are rough for me. Too much going on in a short amount of time.
Did I loose anyone yet? This is turning into a very long post....sorry.

Now for my medical update. (which I still cant believe that I talk about on here)I had a visit with the specialist that MY specialist sent me to. He wanted to make sure that she agreed with my diagnosis and treatment plan. And she does. I have Sjogrens with Fibromyalgia. She said that over 90% of Sjogrens patients have Fibro and it pretty much goes hand in hand. She said that she agrees that I should start on the Methotrexate but that it will be around 6 weeks before I start to feel any improvement. She also thinks I should switch from one of my current meds to Cymbalta. She said that it is helping most of her Fibro patients, so that sounds promising. But I cannot start cymbalta until I am on the methotrexate for 6-8 weeks. That is all good news.....she is hopeful that once I am on both of these new meds that I will feel a big improvement. She also said that I need to start walking even though it is and will continue to be painful, in the long run it will be beneficial. I plan to check out some yardsales to see if I can find a cheap treadmill....for bad weather days.
Tomorrow I go see my PCP and wednesday I see my surgeon. If she clears me I will probably be starting the Methotrexate by next week. This is both exciting and scary. But I am praying that it will all work out and I will be a semi-normal (not sick) person again someday.
Someday.
